DETAILED ITINERARY

DAY 1  FRI USA to CAIRO
Evening departure from select U.S. gateways to Cairo.  In flight meals, snacks, and drinks served during the flight.

DAY 2  SAT Arrive CAIRO / LUXOR NILE CRUISE
Arrive in Cairo. After customs and immigration, board your flight to Luxor. Upon arrival You will be transferred directly to our cruise ship M/S CARNIVAL. M/S Carnival with air-conditioned stateroom cabins all with panoramic windows. Tonight your tour guide will hold an information meeting to walk you through the program. You will spend the night aboard the ship docked in Luxor. (D)

DAY 3  SUN  LUXOR to ESNA / NILE CRUISE
Free day in Luxor, with optional visits** to Luxor and Karnak Temples and to Thebes and Valley of Kings and Valley of the Queens and Collossi of Memnon.  Later return to the boat to wind down. We will start sailing to Esna this afternoonn.  In Esna you will pass through the locks on the River Nile, for many a fun and small scale canal-crossing experience.  Tonight we will dock in Esna for overnight. Lunch and dinner aboard MS Carnival.  (B-L-D)

DAY 4  MON ESNA to EDFU to KOM OMBO / NILE CRUISE 
As you are having breakfast aboard the boat, you will sail up the Nile to Edfu.  Upon arrival in Edfu, if you purchased our Optional Excursions package** you will first go on a horse-drawn-carriage ride in Edfu, and then you will have guided visits to Edfu Temple. We will continue our cruise up the Nile to Kom Ombo, and if you purchased our Optional Excursions package** guided visits in Komombo are included.  Lunch and dinner are aboard the boat. (Meals B-L-D)

DAY 5  TUE  KOM OMBO / ASWAN NILE CRUISE
As you are having breakfast aboard the boat, you will sail up the Nile to Aswan, for many one of the prettiest towns on the Nile. Upon arrival in Aswan,you can stay and relax on the boat, or if you purchased our Optional Excursions package** you will have a full day excursion which includes a Felucca Sailing on the Nile River and later visits Temple of Philae,the High Dam, and the Unfinished Obelisk site. Lunch and dinner are aboard the boat. (B-L-D) 

DAY 6  WED   ASWAN / Abu Simbel / CAIRO / Afternoon transfer to Aswan Airport airport for flight to Abu Simbel considered to be one of the most impressive sites in Egypt.

Here you will visit the two temples built by Ramses II as a high-architect before he became a Pharaoh.

The 100 foot high Great Temple is world famous, which features 4 statues of Ramses II and his wife Queen Nefertari, each 65 foot high. Next to the Great Temple is the temple dedicated to Queen Nefertari. Both temples were originally carved in a mountain. In 1965 they were moved 600 feet and raised 65 feet, thanks to an international project to save them from the flooding caused by the construction of the High Dam.

Fly to Cairo. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the Pyramids Park hotel in Cairo.(Meals B-D)

DAY 7  THU   CAIRO
Today, you will have a full day excursion with lunch, visiting the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. You will drive around the Pyramid of Chephren, the Pyramid of Cheops (also known as the Great Pyramid or Khufu), and the Pyramid of Mykerinos. You will have time to walk around  Cheops, and take pictures. Then visit the Sphinx, the collasal one-piece sandstone man-headed lion-bodied statue. Then continue to Memphis, the capital of Old Kingdom; and then Sakkara, to visit the Step Pyramid, the first monumental stone structure in Ancient Egypt.  Return to hotel.  Dinner on your own. (Meals B-L) 

DAY 8  FRI    CAIRO
You will have a full day excursion with lunch, visiting the famous Egyptian Museum where archaeological pieces dating as far back as 3000 BC are in exhibit; where you will see the famous treasure of King Tut-ank-amon. You will also visit the Alabaster Mosque, the Coptic District, and the Ancient Citadel which was built in 1176. Time permitting you will visit jewelry and ornament wholesalers. Dinner on your own. (Meals B-L)

DAY 9 SAT CAIRO  
Today, enjoy your last day free at leisure for shopping in Cairo or you can have an optional full day tour of Alexandria with lunch, visiting the lighthouse the library Pompey's pillar & the Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa - considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Middle Ages. (B)

DAY 10 SUN CAiRO / HOME
Transfer to Cairo airport for flight back home to the U.S.  (B)
